“I wish I had brought this into my life sooner!
All the things we do in class, I get to practice at home in the morning, and I’ve noticed a huge difference. Plamen goes through the exercises and movements in such a gentle, easy-to-understand way. I have no doubt that when you come to the class, you will feel the empowerment of knowing that you can do it as well. It’s truly for all levels, and that’s an exciting thing. It’s really fun! I am loving it, and it has really helped me bring more calm and more stillness into my day. It sets me up for a lovely time for the rest of the day.
I could not recommend it enough!”

Client testimonials

I was looking for a change, something to focus on whilst bringing me physical and mental benefits and came across Plamen’s classes. The claims were bold but in line with my thinking, so I gave it a go.

I found Plamen to be an experienced and personable teacher who gave everyone his full attention. To date I’ve noticed a marked improvement in my physical ability, even my doctor has remarked that Tai Chi and the methods I’m using have improved my overall levels of well-being.

If you’re seeking to embark on a journey of self-discovery, balance, and wellness through the ancient art of Tai Chi, look no further than Plamen.

The comprehensive approach to teaching, combined with an unwavering commitment to students’ well-being, makes Plamen an exceptional guide in the journey of self-improvement and inner balance. For anyone seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and personable Tai Chi instructor, I couldn’t recommend anyone better.

Lee C.

My health and wellbeing haven’t been great; I’m constantly stressed and always on the move. I truly appreciated the nonjudgmental and safe space during the classes. I never felt awkward, the classes provided just the right level of challenge, and the instructions were exceptionally clear.

Plamen is incredibly welcoming and friendly, possessing a vast knowledge and an excellent approach for beginners. The clarity of his instructions and the demonstration of movements from various angles were particularly helpful. The progression of movements from basic to more advanced matched perfectly with my and the group’s pace.

I would encourage anyone to give it a try. It’s remarkably effective at calming the mind, teaching techniques to slow down and focus. Plus, if you have mobility issues, it’s beneficial for your joints.

My mum lives with me. She has Alzheimer’s and a lot of mobility issues. I realised that at 50 I had a good chance of ending up the same way as I have already started to experience frequent back pains and brain fog. This just seemed the perfect proactive step to take.

Meet your instructor Plamen

Hi, my name is Plamen, and I’m the founder of Tai Chi Academy Manchester. My mission is to help people, especially those with busy lives or navigating life after 40, slow down, release stress, and restore balance in both body and mind.

What makes my approach unique is the blend of East and West: I teach traditional Tai Chi, passed down through an authentic lineage, while also drawing on my background in sports therapy, coaching, counselling, and psychotherapy. This means every class isn’t just about learning movements; it is about understanding your body, reducing stress, and building lasting habits that improve your everyday life.

My own journey began about two decades ago, when I turned to Tai Chi to manage pain and postural issues. Experiencing its benefits first-hand, I committed myself fully to the art, not only as a practice for health but also as a martial discipline. Over the years, I’ve gone on to win national and international gold medals and was honoured to be recognised as Best Instructor with my school awarded Best Tai Chi School in the Northwest.

Above all, I aim to make every class personal, supportive, and enjoyable. Whether you come for health, balance, or deeper learning, you’ll find a welcoming community and a teacher who truly cares about your progress.
